If you
frequently use your printer to do the printing job for you, either at
home or in the office, you have been probably experiencing the
soaring cost of replacing your Epson inkjet cartridges.
In most of the cases, the replacement
cartridges cost as much or even more than the initial cost of
purchasing a printer. Fortunately, there are two most effective ways
of saving money on your printer ink cost- either refill your empty
cartridges by yourself or use recycled or remanufactured cartridges.
Both these options are good and can furnish
you with better quality productivity at affordable price. You can
save 80% or more when you choose to refill your cartridges by
yourself or use recycled cartridges, and this way you will be doing
something good for the environment.
Most retail
stores and online retailers that sell ink also sell refill kits.
There are many websites sell remanufactured ink cartridges for almost
all models of Epson printers. You can often purchase Epson inkjet cartridges in bulk packs, saving even more money. This is the best
choice if you do a lot of printing on regular basis, but make sure to
purchase these bulk packs if you do not replace your cartridges that
often. They may dry out if left unused for longer period of time, so
you may end up wasting money if you purchase in huge quantity.
Consider the
fact that over the course of several years of printing, you may end
up spending up to 100 times as much on ink as you invest on your
printer initially. This makes a good reason for you to use refilled
ink.
However,
there are few drawbacks. Epson and other brands claim that the
warranty on your printer will be cancelled if you use refilled ink
with your printer. If
there is any technical snag comes up at the middle of the printing
work and the ink is determined to be at fault, you will have to pay a
burden for repairs or a replacement. The other negative aspect to ink
refills is that they can be a hassle and make a mess out of the thing
if you are doing the refilling by yourself.
However, it will depend on your printer model
- some requires less effort than others, but if you are trying it for
the first time you may damage a set of cartridges. No need to worry,
though- you can do it easily with practice.
